The members of United Lutheran in downtown Eugene sensed an opportunity for a new Lutheran church in north Eugene and supported the efforts of the Pacific Synod to establish a church. A first meeting of interested persons was held by Pastor Henkel, the mission developer, on June 23, 1955.
